INTELLIGENT INTEGRATED LIGHTING CONTROL

Vaboss lighting controls are integrated stand-alone units that manage lighting in an individual luminaire's space

A VABOSS Control makes all its own decisions; turns off when its not required and turns on when its dark in its precisely defined zone of operation. Walk in to the factory or warehouse and VABOSS can see you coming and turn on the lamps. Drive a forklift in; that will also turn them on as well.

If it's sunny outdoors, VABOSS will keep the lamps dimmed down inside and if it's overcast it will turn the lights up a bit. When you leave, VABOSS will wait a bit and gently turn the lamps off again. Walk in to an isolated are and VABOSS will switch on the lamps and will follow you wherever you go, and keep the laps on bright until you're gone.

What's special about VABOSS controllers is that after a lamp detects presence, it switches on and immediately goes in to a continual, imperceptible dimming state and continues until presence ceases. It's subtle; it's non-intrusive, it's designed to unnoticeable harvest light from all available sources and supplement it with LED lamp light to continually generate a defined LUX for each lamp zone.

It's all very simple; you set the light levels that you want and the level of sensitivity to human or mechanical presence and a VABOSS control will do your work for you until you decide its time for a change to any one of the other popular Ambient and PresenceMultiConfig choices with your Android Smart Phone.

You can have:

  • Ambient control only
  • Single function lighht management
  • Ambient and Presence control that not only mamges your lihght levels, but also turns the light on when somone arrives, using eithhe rPIR or Microwave sensors, or
  • Group control, which systematizes both Ambient and Presence control, plus links select lamps together so whole areas can be managed by any one of the group of lamps.

VABOSS GROUP FUNCTION

Group is very special and native to VABOSS. Lamps in isolated spaces like pallet rack isles or pick and pack zones can all be linked together, so that presence detection by one will turn on all others in the group. Lamps in Groups can also belong to secondary Groups; access and internal freeway Groups that pass by or through basic zone Groups. VABOSS is selective in its use of Bluetooth; allowing each lamp to maintain its unique lighting harvesting settings whilst minimizing radio noise and security issues.

Both controllers feature the basic robust VABOSS control with Texas Instruments 25 or 26 series IC and are based on a common functional specification and similar data processing hardware.

LAMP COMPARABILITY FOR DIMMING CONTROL

A VABOSS Tulip control unit can be retro fitted to almost any high bay lamp. There are numerous housing and connector options. If the lamp is powered by a 0~10v or DALI without auxiliary it can be operated from a maximum power down to approximately 6~10% of power, without switch-off, however.

For complete lighting control from maximum to switched-off VABOSS supplies a Junction Control HUB (JCB 66-4). The HUB provides a function to allow switch-off for 0~10v and DALI drivers without auxiliary.

The HUB is a great aid to manufacture; it makes for speedy wiring and connections at the manufacture point. Control cables plug with USB and PicoBlade sockets switch all to zero in with auxiliary featured dimming control.

A list of tested drivers by VABOSS and declared compatible is available from VABOSS. This list is updated monthly and features:

  • Ballast & Driver Compatibility - Interfaces with 0/1 ~ 10v or DALI.

  • Microwave Presence - Broad range high quality motion sensing; perfect for vehicular traffic and suitable for pedestrian at 3 to 15 MT distances. Suitable for through acrylic diffusers in all broad span buildings.
  • Minimum complexity component count as the Controller derives its low power requirements from a luminaires supply of between 12 and 70 volts.
  • Management - Routine wireless access with PC / Tablet / Android Smart Phone.
  • Relay drive option for 0 ~ 10v 100% power off control Zero crossing detector for turn-on/off in luminaires.
  • Housing types - Flush horizontal or vertical through body mount or extended gooseneck.
